La Alpujarra
Nestling in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range lie the jumble of valleys known as La Alpujarra, one of the most picturesque of all Andalucía. The area is peppered with traditional oasis- like white villages, orange and lemon groves and remains a world apart from the mayhem of the Costa del Sol.
Tablones (our village) is a small village 390 meters above sea level and surrounded by mountain views. Idylically situated approx 300 meters above the Rio Guadalfeo (river) which starts it's journey high in the mountain town of Trevélez, gushing into the mediterranean sea at Salobreña. A warm welcome awaits you in this village, a haven of peace and tranquility. The village has a school, small supermarket, church (pic), local ceramic/ pottery shop, bar and a takeaway bistro and is conveniently 5 mins by car to the bustling capital of Orgiva.

As you enter the village (opposite the park) Jyoti Alpujarra bed & breakfast can be found. Our accommodation is 20 minutes drive from the spa town of Lanjarón where you can see the impressive wind farm or visit the Lanjarón spa where you can take advantage of the mineral properties of the mountain spring water. The great city of Granada is approx 45 mins and a further 30 mins to the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

The Costa Tropical coastline and the white washed town of Salobreña is approx 30mins along the A-346 mountain road of natural beauty.
That's right, from Jyoti Alpujarra, you could be ski-ing in the morning and sunbathing on the Costa Tropical coastline in the afternoon. It really is a special place and makes a great base for exploring La Alpujarra, Orgiva and the Granada region!!

Our accommodation will accept you at all hours of the day and night providing there are vacancies. We aim to please and are the ideal place for a stop-off, last minute, late bookings, house hunting, backpacking, low budget and nature lovers.

THINGS TO DO ORGIVA
Walking, cycling, birdwatching, horse riding, climbing and quading are all available in this exciting area. If all that sounds tiring, finding a spot to soak up the peaceful countryside, day dreaming with a bottle of vino makes a great pass time.

A few outside chairs in the summer months allows you to relax under the shade of an umbrella or basque in the rays of the sun. In the evening the candel lit give a romantic feel to the Bistro and makes a great summer evening stop off.

The nearest airport is Granada and Ryanair fly into Granada from a few uk airports. A number of Budget airlines fly into Malaga airport, including Easyjet. More on this later in the site.
